In 2008 Leila was a part of the International Festival for Emerging Artists where she met and began collaborating withsinger song writer Ayanna Winter-Johnson and choreographer Alesandra Suetin. Ain't I a Woman was a continuation of their collaboration under the concept and direction of Ayanna Winter-Johnson. It tells a story based on the history of Sojourner Truth.
